Aurora Miranda had a brilliant career, but one unknown to most Brazilians, perhaps overshadowed by the myth of Carmen Miranda.

Miranda is a 48-year-old teacher who changes her perspective on life when she hears reports of harassment and abuse from the students at the school where she teaches. Over the weekend she will decide that it's time to hear her voice and make it heard along with many others.

Drawing on a lesson by José Bragança de Miranda on the Temptations of Saint Anthony and the death of Christ, Edmundo Cordeiro paints a portrait in motion: the film is drawn to untamed childhood, which scatters signs that are not always clear. The professor’s childhood in Chaves, by the banks of the River Tâmega, and that of the director, who responds to it. Amidst images that recede and images that haunt us, Carta a José Bragança de Miranda draws us into the innermost thoughts from which spring the wonder and the profound endurance of a life.
